WHO WE ARE
Katha Manch is a registered trust founded by the group of people interested in stories. It is true that there is no society in this world where stories are not being told. This group visualizes stories as a tool of internalizing knowledge in various fields. It may be history, politics, cultures, customs, languages, science, mathematics, etc.......name any one...you will find it in stories. Drawing from this main focus of Katha Manch is to encourage use of stories as a pedagogical tool in teaching and learning process. This will help in making classroom more interactive, vibrant and live. Keeping this in mind group endeavors to organise various activities central to stories
The main activities of the group are :
Organising and conducting , storytelling workshop for teachers and teacher trainees, storytelling and creative writing workshop for children, storytelling and listening tour, Documenting, regional and local stories, local history, custom, culture etc. Developing resources and getting engage in research work related to different genres of stories.Above all Katha Manch is of the view that story creating, writing and listening are innate leisurely activities of all human being.The group strives to create space for people who are interested in activities related to stories.
